Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her highly laudable performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards which included an Oscar. Her career in acting started with Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway and Off Broadway initiatives. Since her childhood she's been passionate in the field of acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. She was born deaf in the one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. In college she studied theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find films to play. The role of a supporting actress was secured in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in many television series and movies over a career spanning over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
